CloseVU is an innovative start-up that develops production tools that will aid video producers to adapt video content to formats that are optimally viewed on the small screen of Mobile TV. CloseVU products are aimed mainly to content creators, television stations, and mobile telecom operators. CloseVU has developed unique image processing algorithms technology which will adapt and repurpose original HD or SD video content to Mobile TV. The production is simplified with specialized features to create thrilling “highlight packages” for live sports events and to create interactive layers to click, tag and follow the key players in a live game.

One of the leading professional magazines, Broadcast Engineering, recognized CloseVU Live’s technological achievements by choosing it for its Innovative Technology "Pick Hit" Award at IBC 2007. The independent panel of professional judges recognized CloseVU's unique tools for MobileTV Production.

The Team

The founding team combines a unique set of skills and experience in software development, the broadcast industry and extensive entrepreneurial background.

David Amselem

David Amselem has 16 years of experience in the broadcasting industry and world-wide marketing, with expertise in the areas of sales, marketing, product and project management, as well as technical client services. He has participated in projects involving major accounts such as ABC, BBC CNN, CBC – Canada, France Télévision, XM Satellite Radio and many other broadcasters around the world. David holds a MBA from HEC - Jouy-en-Josas - France and a Degree in Music Production & Engineering from Berklee –Boston - USA.

Michael Birnboim (CTO)

An expert in image processing, 3D visualization, and object-tracking technologies, Michael has developed and implemented various algorithms and patents for leading 3D and Image technology firms such as N-Trig and Solidimension. Michael holds a B.Sc in Physics and Computer Science.
